Mario Kart Wii Secrets

Mario Kart Wii Secrets

Mario Kart Wii Secrets
By Jodie Lawton

Mario Kart for the Nintendo Wii has to be the best Wii game released this year! It has everything that you could possibly imagine in the range of characters, ammunition against rivals and rampant racing tracks with clever secret shortcuts.

When starting out with Mario Kart, you can choose from 8 characters like the adorable Mario himself, Peach or the dastardly Waluigi. As you play further and complete races with trophies, you will be awarded with extra characters like the speedy Daisy and Dry Bowser (a skeletal pirate version of Bowser himself). These characters are faster and more powerful than the originals, so race like a madman!

The greatest part of this game is the fact that you can plug in your Wii remote into the Wii Wheel. The motion sensitivity of the Wii remote is great when plugged into the wheel, and you get more of a sense of actually driving rather than just pressing a few buttons on a dull stick remote! I have a lot of fun trying to bump and bash my opponents off the track and into either lava or the deep sea.

However, to help those of you are not as brutal as me, there are loads of cool objects that you can collect along the way to either use against your opponents or to speed yourself up. You collect the objects by driving in to the question mark boxes that you'll find easily along each track.

If you collect the 'Bullet Bill', you will be transformed into a Bullet temporarily that will go through the course at high speed knocking down anything in its path.

If you collect 'Banana Skins' then you can drop them behind you or throw them in front of you to make the other drivers slip up! this is really fun to watch!

The worst (or best) object is the 'Spiny Shell' or otherwise known by us as the Blue Shell of death! This locks onto and chases after the lead vehicle, then blows up when it reaches its target. Any vehicle in the caught in the blast will be flipped over or spun around! There is no defence to it, but luckily they don't come along too often.

I will let you in on a little secret. When you are at the starting line, press the acceleration button down when the number 2 starts to fade and you will be sure to get a kick start to the race.

And watch out for those shortcuts. The best way to find them is to drive through a track and explore. You never know what you might find! But for now, try this. At the end of Maple Treeway, drive up the ramp at the side of the tree (either the left or right tree) and get a speed boost over the ramp to the finish line.

Enjoy!

Best Mario Kart Cheats

How To Dodge A Red Shell

1) Throw a banana, green shell, or another red shell behind you when you see the red shell sign so that you can break it.

2) Have Peach or Daisy on your team so that you may have the heart special item when you are being attacked with a red shell so that you can have it instead of getting hit.

3) Press the Z button over and over until the red shell passes you so that you can confuse the red shell and then it will go for someone else. (This only happens about 25% of the time.)

Tips about items

When getting the triple shell special item with the koopas, fire them only when needed. Some people fire them all at once, but you never know; another team may shoot a shell at you or a banana might come up. If you are in last place, ignore what i just said.

If you ever get three mushrooms, use them when going off the track to access shortcuts or cut across the inside of the track to maximize affect.

Try to use lightning when you are on a hard part of a course. You could catch up easier with everyone being tiny and slower.

Use the star to cut across grass, dirt, etc. Don't just follow the track, travel on the inside of the course. You won't be slowed down because the star boosts your speed and makes you invincible.

Place giant bananas and bananas in parts of the track that would cause chaos.

Place fake item boxes near regular item boxes. Space it evenly to trick your opponents.

Use yoshi eggs when the course has few turns. The items blast out fast ahead, so if it blasts on a curve, the items will fly off course.

Tips about Mushroom Bridge

Tip #1: At the beginning of the race, turn right. You will go down a little ramp, turn, and enter a pipe. You will blast out of another pipe, and land among the other racers. While flying through the air, you will hit an item block, hopefully a mushroom to reaccelerate easily.

Tip #2: If you got a triple-mushroom by using tip #1, this tip will be all the more easier and better! ^.^ You will see a hill past the first tunnel. Blast up it, and you will land a little ahead among traffic. The reason for using a shroom is because the hill is slightly steep.

Tip #3: In the same area as Tip #2, on the left gate is a gap right after you exit the tunnel. You can follow the path beyond the gate, and, even if you miss it, there are TWO gaps before the exit, for TWO chances! Although you follow the outer rim doing this, you avoid traffic.

Tip #4: At the final bridge, go up the sides ofthe bridge. Each has speed boosters and an item block. They will let you avoid the traffic, and speed you along. If you fall on the left while going on the left side of the bridge, you'll land in the lake below, but if you fall right, you'll land among traffic, and vice versa. If you land in traffic, have a shroom ready to quickly reaccelerate.

Tip #5: If you see a mushroom-like car, hit it. A mushroom will appear out of it, plus, you will not tumble as usual. If you see a bomb-like car, shove somebody into it, and they will be exploded, however, you might be caught in the fire!

Secret Passage

ON Yoshi's race track after you go under the tunnels or bridges or whatever....boost off the edge as if you were going into the water but there is a tunnel. You may have to try a few times to boost in the tunnel its a tuff one.
Also, in the raceway where you go across the bridge and there are those boosters on each side. well on that raceway right affter the finish line there is a path to your direct (sharp) right that goes down to a pipe which boosts you out and ahead.

Skidding, which is done with the L and/or R buttons is important to victory, it can be used to accelerate faster and do everything better, the best and easiest places to skid through (and I mean 1 long skid through a hole bunch of the level) are the places like Daisy Cruiser, Mushroom Bridge, Baby Park, Peach Beach, Mario Circuit, Luigi Circuit, and every park with LOTS of curves and bend, it doesn't matter if you do or not as it's your choice but I suggest not using it on Rainbow Road as you may slop off easier

Use these tips wisely and you will be one step closer to becoming a master!

Cheats For Mario Kart Wii
By Robert A Lawrence

Mario Kart Wii marks the latest addition to the much loved and effortlessly fun racing series from Nintendo. In this article I'll cover some hints and tips you can use to make your gameplay a little more interesting, Mario Kart Wii is a great game to play, and it's much better in multiplayer mode. In all all of us there is that competitive gremlin lurking in the dark corners of our minds, You know what I mean, we don't like to loose do we, so will try any tactic or maneuver to be the best and beat friends and family, so here are some tips and cheats to give you the edge. Mario Kart Wii cheats are littered throughout the game, so take the time to look out for them it will work to your advantage, but just to get you started , I'll start you off with a few of the most important ones . Enjoy!

The Rocket Start
Your racing success starts as early as the starting line! Keep your eye on the countdown. The "2" appears as if it comes from behind your screen. When that animation stops and the "2" is in the middle of the screen, press the accelerator. If timed correctly, your kart or bike will receive a big boost at the start and will accelerate to top speed quickly.

Tip: Getting knocked off the course is never a good time. It's a frustrating wait as you're lifted back into the race. As soon as you're dropped onto the course hit the accelerator. If timed correctly (slam it as soon as you land), your kart or bike receives a speed boost similar to the rocket start. This will cut down wait time and helps get you back in the race as fast as possible.

If you hit the accelerator before the countdown finishes and miss the rocket start, your kart or bike suffers a burnout and will start much slower than your competitors. With practice you should be able to perform the rocket start on every single race. You can also use the countdown "beep" as timing; slam the accelerator after the "2" beeps and perform the rocket start. There you go, now go and practice until you have it down to an art.

Hints:

How to get Everyone Playing the Same Character

If you and your friends want to play as the same character in splitscreen multiplayer, Check this out.

First, one person should select and then deselect the character everyone wants to play as. The next player should select and then deselect the same character. Repeat as required for as many players as you have playing. Then, go back one screen, reselect the character selection screen, and all players should have their icons on the same pre-selected character.

Here's How to Dodge Red and Green Shells while racing

To dodge red shells, put a banana behind you, by either dropping it there or holding it there. When the red shell collides with the banana, its effects will be useless, allowing you to proceed with the race unhindered.

To dodge green shells, use the same technique as above for the red shell, if the shell is heading straight for you or is bounced off a wall. In other situations, use the three-shell weapon. Red or blue shells will protect you from the green shells in these situations.

Dodge those Blue Shells

Here's a great technique you can use when trying to dodge blue shells targeted at you when you're in first place, the trick is to use any type of mushroom. Specifically, use the mushroom when the blue shell begins to rise over you to avoid its blast. You've got to time this well.
